This year I participated in the Breaking Traditions exibit. Breaking Tradition is an organization the collaborates with the American Cancer Sociey to raise moeny for cancer research. The theme this yer is "With One Voice." Fiber Artist were to construct a 12" x 12" quilt depicting an organization or person who has made a difference in society. I choose to represent Angel Flight. There wre about 96 participants who dontaed a over 100 quilts. Financially, each participate submitted $10 alone with their quilts raising $1086 which surpassed the organizer's goal. The quilts were hung as one large quilt at the American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan that was held this weekend. The exibit will travel for one year to various location. As we enter Chicago's Artist month my next exibit which is also sponsored by Phatom Gallery and curated by Alpha Bruton to be held at the Murphy Hill Gallery 3333 W. Arlington Ave. 3rd floor. Chicago,
Il. The openiing cermoney will take place October 11. The exibit will run through the month of Ocober. There will be a guest speaker talking about the history of quilts.
