In April I attended the Chicago International Quilt Festival in Rosemont. I had the most exciting time I have ever had. I took my daughter Alisha and a friend with me who had never attended a quilt fest; she enjoyed her self immensely. We were there from the time it opened until it was over. We were actually put out of the convention center. I got a chance to meet some of the very people whose work I adore. Under the Quilting Arts venue Freda Anderson, did a demo on make cards using her techniques. Judy Coates Perez was creating her collage technique featured in the March/April edition of Cloth, Paper, Scissors Magazine. This is a project I actually started. It was awesome to be able to see the process being done in person. I also did a paper tag project with Belinda Spiwak. She told me she will have a feature article in the next Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine. I also meet Judy Coates Perez and the Author and Editor-in-Chief of Quilting Arts and Cloth, Paper Scissors, Patricia Bolton.

I have been quite busy since my last post. Let me up date. I had my first quilt show with my godmother Shirley Smith. It was a great success. I've had offers to do more show with other artist. In December I worked as a vendor during the Malcolm X College Kwanzaa Celebration. That too was a great success. I learned much and have noted the do's and don’ts for next year. I also worked on making Dashikis for Kwanzaa and Black History month.
