My daughter Alisha, 11, is beginging to like sewing. She made her first wall hanging this pass weekend. She named it Fishes, Fishes, Fishes. It will be displayed in the Sew-Sweet Youth Fashion & Trunk Show at the Orginal Sewing and Quilt Expo. held at the Pheasant Run Resort, Saturday, October 14, 2006.

I went to an apple orchard in September, and it was such a beautiful place. I had never in my life seen so many apple trees. This was my inspiration behind my second fall quilt. This mini quilt measuring 11"X8". The fabric for the sky and the grass gave it a picture perfect scenery, as if I were at the apple orchard again. At the time of my visit, leaves had not begun to fall. This is my interpretation of how it may look now.

This is my first ever cyber post. I made this mini quilt for the Fastfriday Challenge. The challenge begin last Friday, I completed this quilt on Sunday. It was a lot of fun. The quilt measures 11" x 9". The background is a red, purple, and nutural tie-dye. The leaves are made from felt fabric, and I used a gold binding with decorative stitching. I'm still in the process of learning to free motion stitch as I did attempt the backgound, and add lines in the leaves to give it a bit of a realist look. This challenge has encouraged me to do more fall theme quilts.
